LEARN TO BE A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS: ERIC GILBERTSON ADVOCACY INSTITUTE

November 9, 2017

ABC will again sponsor the Eric Gilbertson Advocacy Institute for Behavioral Health on six Saturdays starting in September 2017 and concluding in early December 2017. This will be the 12th time the Institute has been offered. The program is targeted to individuals receiving services from the public behavioral health system, as well as family members, service providers, and the general public. Over the six sessions you’ll learn: the role and responsibilities of state agencies including DHS, DES, AHCCCS, DOE, the Courts, jails, and Corrections; the role of Regional Behavioral Health Authorities (RBHAs); how to access community supports; how State and Federal Policy is developed; the Arizona legislative process; and how to organize for change.

As a participant in the Institute you will meet and talk with leaders in the behavioral health advocacy community in Arizona, as well as directors and managers of state and local government agencies.  Additionally, you will have an opportunity to meet and unite with others who have similar concerns to create a powerful voice on important issues.
