Point in Time Street Count
April 17, 2018
Every year the team at ABC participates in the annual Homeless Street Count. This usually occurs, around the nation, during the third or fourth week of January. Many volunteers go out in the early morning hours and scour our streets, empty lots and parks looking for people experiencing homelessness, in an attempt to complete a short survey. The survey results are compiled for community reporting. The numbers of people counted each year helps determine what level of federal funding our communities receive and so it is vital in helping to solve homelessness. ABC is honored to have the opportunity to talk to real people living on the streets, listen to their stories and get re-inspired each year to help those in need of affordable supportive housing.
